The Last Monday Mush

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” – Mahatma Gandhi

What a great quote as we head into our last week of school for this year!  It is amazing all the things that we have accomplished this year, and I owe each one of you a huge thank you for hanging in the way that you have.  The Huggins community is better for all of us working together the way we have.

This quote sums up the way we can start living this summer.  We can enjoy each day for the gift that it is, and we can keep learning and looking for more opportunities to conquer new tasks.  I hope the summer is of course a time for relaxing, but I also hope that it is a time for you to develop steps towards your goals.  What do you want to learn or do?  Start deciding now how to go about finding a way to do that.  I know the summer is a great time to get started.

Take every moment that you have this week with your students and cherish them.  This is your last chance to remind them of all the good they have in front of them and how proud you are of them.  They aren’t a perfect crew…I know that much, but I also know that you will miss them.  Don’t be afraid to tell them that.

I will miss you guys over the summer as well as missing greatly those that are not returning to Hound country.  It won’t be the same without you.

Remember that you make a difference every day, and I appreciate that more than you will ever know.

Happy Monday!
